A considerably simplified process is disclosed for reducing equipment costs for carrying out a recycling process of non-sorted batteries. The non-sorted batteries, just as they are collected, are directly supplied from a feeding hopper (1) to a rotary furnace (3) through a shredder (2). The shredded batteries are oxidatively burnt at a temperature from 400 ~C to 900 ~C during preferably 45 to 90 minutes. The combustion gasses produced flow through a gas scrubbing plant (7) that consists of known elements: dust filter (4), wet scrubbing filter (5) and active coal filter (6). The oxidised combustion product (P) is recycled by a metal recycling process (8). The combustion product (P) may be burned once again in an additional or subsequent step in the rotary furnace (3) with admixture of a reducing agent, coal. The thus obtained reduced combustion product may in turn be recycled by a metal recycling process (8).
Un procédé considérablement simplifié permet de réduire les frais d'équipement requis pour mettre en oeuvre un procédé de recyclage de batteries non triées. Les batteries non triées, telles qu'elles sont collectées, passent directement d'une trémie d'alimentation (1) à un four rotatif (3) à travers un déchiqueteur (2). Les batteries déchiquetées sont brûlées par oxydation à une température comprise entre 400 ~C et 900 ~C pendant de préférence 45 à 90 minutes. Les gaz de combustion produits s'écoulent à travers une installation (7) de lavage des gaz constituée d'éléments connus: filtre à poussières (4), filtre de lavage par voie humide (5) et filtre en charbon actif (6). Le produit oxydé (P) de combustion est recyclé selon un procédé de recyclage de métaux (8). Le produit de combustion (P) peut être brûlé à nouveau pendant une étape ultérieure ou additionnelle dans le four rotatif (3) par adjonction d'un agent réducteur, du charbon, le produit réduit de combustion ainsi obtenu pouvant lui aussi être recyclé selon un procédé de recyclage de métaux (8).
