Abstract of the Disclosure A unitary welded connection between a projecting leg of a cell connecting strap and collector tabs emanating from the plates of the cell is disclosed. The leg has at least one boss or protrusion which during the weld- ing process melts and fuses with the collector tabs to eliminate bridge welds. There may be complete or partial fusion of the boss.
