ABSTRACT An improvement to existing beach umbrellas which presently have to be forced into the sand. In loose sand a slight breeze will blow the umbrella over. In impacted sand the usual blunt point cannot penetrate. There is a need for a means by which an umbrella handle can penetrate the. impacted sand to a depth that will support the umbrella even when the wind blows.
