ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A bead-building component for a pneumatic vehicle tire, and a tire equipped with such a component. In order to achieve as exact a disposition of the bead core in the tire bead as possible, the bead-building component is prevulcanized prior to its insertion into an unfinished tire. The position of the bead core relative to the profiled rubber member during prevul- canization is fixed by means of spacer elements in the profiled member and/or on the vulcanizing mold.
