Abstract of the Disclosure The invention is concerned with a beam support joint for a support and a beam which are constructed from concrete and at least one metal section and each having a web, wherein at least one recess of the metal section is filled with concrete and an outer surface of at least one flange of the metal section is not covered with concrete and is otherwise exposed. An upper support strap is posi- tioned on an upper flange of the beam and is attached to the beam and support to take up tension, the upper support strap and the webs of both the beam and the support all lying substantially in the same plane. A lower support plate may be welded to a flange of the support, the lower support plate having a width corresponding substantially to the width of the flange of the support onto which said lower support plate is welded.
