A pump (10) for transferring fragile and aggressive liquids such as human blood and comprising a pumping chamber (12) along with a pair of fluid inlet ports (16, 17) arranged in oppositely disposed relationship on the chamber, and one or more outlet ports (18, 19) arranged transversely and medially of the inlet ports. A rotor (20) is positioned within the pumping chamber having a dual-conical configuration converging toward opposed polar end regions (21, 22) and with an axis of rotation extending between the polar regions. The rotor includes magnets (24) which are arranged at radially spaced locations and with a magnetic drive positioned to deliver rotational driving energy to the rotor. The sole support for the rotor (20) are the hydrodynamic forces acting upon the rotor during its operation, with the rotor body having a relative density of between 10 % and 90 % of the relative density of the fluid being pumped.

L'invention concerne une pompe (10) servant au transfert de liquides fragiles et agressifs tels que du sang humain et comprenant une chambre de pompage (12) ainsi que deux orifices d'entrée de fluide (16, 17) placés sur les côtés opposés de la chambre et un ou plusieurs orifices de sortie (18, 19) placés transversalement et en position médiane par rapport aux orifices d'entrée. Un rotor (20) est placé à l'intérieur de la chambre de pompage qui présente une configuration à deux cônes convergeant vers des régions d'extrémité polaires (21, 22) opposées, l'axe de rotation s'étendant entre les régions polaires. Le rotor comprend des aimants (24) qui sont disposés dans des emplacements espacés radialement, un dispositif d'entraînement magnétique étant placé de façon à fournir l'énergie d'entraînement en rotation au rotor. Ledit rotor (20) est seulement soutenu par les forces hydrodynamiques agissant sur lui pendant son fonctionnement, le corps du rotor ayant une densité relative correspondant à entre 10 % et 90 % de la densité relative du fluide pompé.
