Abstract of the Disclosure A device for use in a non-mechanical printing machine accomodates a cylinder used as in intermediate carrier. A first cylinder-retaining flange is stationarily connected with and centered on the drive shaft for the cylinder. The flange is provided at its outer end with a groove, into which a peripheral lip disposed at one end of the open-ended cylinder is adapted to engage. A second cylinder-retaining flange is slidably centered on and removably mounted on the drive shaft. This flange is likewise pro- vided with a groove, into which a peripheral lip disposed at the opposite end of the cylinder is adapted to be engaged. There is a thread means provided, into which the free end of the drive shaft is adapted to be screwed, thereby resiliently pressing the second drum-retaining flange against the cylinder and the cylinder against the first cylinder-retaining flange. Pre- centering rods permit a pre-centering of the cylinder during assembly. The thread means includes a screw member which is provided with a radially ex- tending plate. A sleeve is slidably arranged, upon the screw member and springs are arranged between the plate and an end of the sleeve.
