A bearing assembly for journaling on a crank shaft to mount a retractable finger to an auger. The assembly includes two bearing halves, each having a bearing portion with a semi-cylindrical bearing surface such that the bearing halves may be mated to define a cylindrical bore for journaling on the crank shaft. The bearing halves are pivotally joined together to wrap around the crank shaft and have a finger retaining portion extending radially from the bearing portion to mount a finger thereto. The bearing halves are joined to one another at hinge portions having interlocking structures that cooperate with one another to join the two bearing halves without the need for a pivot pin to form a hinge.
