ABSTRACT A high speed bearing is disclosed comprising a stationary race ring and a rotatable race ring with rolling elements in a cage therebetween, and a lubricating system to supply lubricant to the races of the bearing. At least on one side of the stationary race, a ring made of porous material is fixed which is in communication with a source of lubricant and has an end part thereof extending into the vicinity of the running surface of the rotating race, such that the lubricant, under the influence of the negative pressure generated by high speed rotation, is drawn out from the end part and moved from that part, mainly in radial direction, to the stationary race ring and returned to the porous ring along the bearing surface of the stationary race ring.
