An axle lubricating mechanism adapted for use with an axle housing mounted to a wall of an oil containing chain case. First and second bearings are positioned within the axle housing in spaced relation to each other to define a space therebetween. An axle is supported within the bearings, and a channel is defined in the axle housing in operative fluid communication with the chain case for receiving fluid from the chain case. The channel opens into the space between the bearings for directing fluid from the chain case into the space between the bearings. A fin member positioned within the chain case directs fluid within the chain case into the channel.
