The present invention is a system for monitoring temperature changes in wheel bearings of vehicles, preferably trucks. It includes a plurality of sensors positioned in close proximity to the wheel bearings. Each of the sensors is adapted to alter the flow of voltage therethrough in relation to the temperature change of the bearings. The system has a display box in the truck for indicating whether the temperature of the wheel bearings is above or below pre-determined temperatures. It also includes an electronic control box operatively coupled to each of the wheel bearings sensors and to the display box for receiving the change in voltage in each of said sensors and signalling the appropriate display. The system may also incorporate radio frequency transmitters for transmitting information from the sensors to the display box.
La présente invention a trait à un système permettant de surveiller les changements de température des coussinets de roues de véhicules, en particulier de camions. Le système comporte des capteurs situés très près des coussinets de roues. Chaque capteur est conçu pour modifier la tension en fonction des changements de température des coussinets. Le système comprend un écran situé dans le camion pour indiquer si la température des coussinets est supérieure ou inférieure aux températures prédéterminées. Il comporte également une unité de commande électronique reliée à chaque capteur de coussinet de roue, ainsi qu'à l'écran, qui reçoit les changements de tension dans chaque capteur et affiche les données pertinentes. Le système peut également comporter des émetteurs à radiofréquences servant à transmettre à l'écran les informations provenant des capteurs.
