A method for identifying an onset of a first heart beat includes sensing blood pressure over time to produce a plurality of blood pressure samples (60), each sample having a corresponding blood pressure amplitude in time, identifying a post onset point in time following an onset of the first heart beat and preceding an onset of a second heart beat, and identifying an onset of the heart beat based upon the blood pressure samples (60) and the post onset point.

Un procédé d'identification d'un début d'un premier battement cardiaque consiste à détecter la pression sanguine dans le temps afin de produire une pluralité d'échantillons (60) de pression sanguine, chaque échantillon ayant une amplitude de pression sanguine correspondante dans le temps, à identifier un point post-début dans le temps après un début du premier battement cardiaque et précédent un début d'un second battement cardiaque, et à identifier un début du battement cardiaque sur la base des échantillons (60) de pression sanguine et du point post-début.
