A bed cover assembly for a vehicle bed includes a pair of tracks to be secured to opposed sidewalls of the vehicle bed. A cover extendible between and engageable with the tracks over their lengths, carries formations which co-operate with formations on the tracks when the cover is in tension. A releasable lockingmechanism maintains the cover under tension to inhibit separation of the co-operating formations when they are in mating engagement.
