Abstract A hot water bottle of synthetic plastic material has a neck in which a tubular sleeve with an internal thread is embedded. The outwardly directed end of the sleeve is covered by a layer of the plastic material. A screw plug for closing the sleeve has a flange provided with an annular surface which presses against this layer when the plug is threaded into the sleeve.
