The invention concerns a bed, in particular a hospital bed, equipped at least along one of its longitudinal sides, with several vertical adjacent individual barrier elements, extending each over a fraction of the bed. The invention is essentially characterised in that there are at least two said barrier elements (5, 5'), articulated relative to each other about an axis (X, X') generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the bed, such that when they are folded down, they are adjacent relative to each other and occupy substantially the space required for one single element, while in unfolded position, they extend parallel thereto and in the extension of each other.

La présente invention concerne un lit notamment hospitalier, qui est équipé au moins le long d'un de ses côtés longitudinaux, de plusieurs éléments de barrières individuels voisins et verticaux, qui s'étendent chacun sur une fraction de la longueur du lit. Il est essentiellement caractérisé par le fait que lesdits éléments de barrière (5, 5') sont au moins au nombre de deux, et qu'ils sont articulés l'un par rapport à l'autre autour d'un axe (X, X') généralement perpendiculaire à l'axe longitudinal du lit, de sorte qu'en position rabattue, ils sont contigus l'un par rapport à l'autre et occupent sensiblement l'encombrement d'un seul élément, tandis qu'en position déployée, ils s'étendent parallèlement et dans le prolongement l'un de l'autre.
