A bedpan comprises a body member defining a reservoir, the reservoir being shaped and dimensioned for receiving bodily waste, the body member including a receptacle portion shaped for receiving therein a bedpan liner and an open support section including a central opening providing access to the reservoir defined by the body member. The support section is defined by a peripheral wall extending downwardly from a peripheral edge of the central opening into the reservoir. A bottom wall may or may not be provided at a bottom of the peripheral wall. If it is provided, it is defined at a downward edge of the peripheral wall opposite to the central opening to close a bottom of the reservoir. At least one handle is provided for insertion and removal of the bedpan under a patient's buttocks, the handle including an opening extending through at least one of the bottom wall (if present) and the peripheral wall. The central opening of the reservoir is covered by the bedpan liner when the liner is received by the receptacle portion.
La présente invention concerne un bassin de lit comportant un élément de corps définissant un réservoir, le réservoir présentant une forme et des dimensions appropriées pour recevoir les excrétions corporelles, l'élément de corps comprenant un partie réceptacle présentant une forme appropriée pour recevoir un revêtement intérieur de bassin et une partie de support ouverte comprenant une ouverture centrale donnant accès au réservoir défini dans l'élément de corps. La partie de support est définie par une paroi périphérique s'étendant vers le bas depuis un bord périphérique de l'ouverture centrale pour pénétrer dans le réservoir. Une paroi inférieure peut être prévue ou non au niveau d'une partie inférieure de la paroi périphérique. Si elle est prévue, elle est définie au niveau d'un bord s'étendant vers le bas de la paroi périphérique en regard de l'ouverture centrale pour fermer le fond du réservoir. Au moins une poignée est prévue pour l'insertion et le retrait du bassin sous les fesses d'un patient, la poignée comprenant une ouverture s'étendant à travers la paroi inférieure (si elle est prévue) et/ou la paroi périphérique. L'ouverture centrale du réservoir est recouverte par le revêtement intérieur du bassin lorsque le revêtement intérieur est reçu dans la partie réceptacle.
