ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A belt conveyor system comprising a conveyor belt, rollers at the undersides of the upper and lower runs of the con- veyor belt and flanges at the longitudinal edges of the conveyor belt which on the supporting side constitute guides in cooperation with the rollers at the underside of the lower run to maintain the belt centered with respect to its path of travel and means when traveling along the upper run for increasing the capacity of the conveyor belt and optionally flange means at the supported side of the conveyor belt which in cooperation with the rolls at the underside of the upper run maintain the upper run centered with respect to its path of travel. The conveyor belt is uniform- ly thick throughout its width except at its edges and the flanges are attached to the edges by suitable fastening means or by molding thereto. . . .
