Belt having transverse rigidity, composed of two layers providing transverse rigidity which are arranged close to the top and the bottom of the belt. A layer providing longitudinal strength is arranged between said layers. In order to be able to guide a belt of this type having transverse rigidity over drums of relatively small diameter without cracking in the long term, it is proposed that at least the uppermost layer having transverse rigidity be composed of two sub-layers some distance apart.

Une couche conférant une résistance longitudinale est placée entre lesdites couches. Afin de permettre le guidage d'une courroie à rigidité transversale de ce type autour de tambours de diamètre relativement petit sans risque de fissuration à long terme, on propose qu'au moins la couche supérieure à rigidité transversale soit composée de deux sous-couches éloignées l'une de l'autre d'une certaine distance.
