An apparatus and method for making cable reinforced belts or bands and includes cable supply unit for supplying a plurality of reinforcing cables (12), clamping unit for clamping cables under predetermined tension in each of hte reinforcing cables (12). Each tensioning stand (16) includes tensioning units (32) with a tension sensor for monitoring tension in an assocaited cable (12), an actuator (66) for applying a force to the cable (12) to produce therein a predetermined tension and an enclosed feedback controller for the force controlling actuator (66) which controls as a function of the signal generated by a load cell (100) connected to the actuator (66). A cable hold back unit is upstream the tensioning stand (16). Each tensioning unit (32) includes a pair of spaced apart cable sheaves (56) having rotational axes fixed with respect to the respect to the tensioning unit (32).
L'invention concerne un appareil et un procédé pour fabriquer des courroies ou des bandes renforcés par câbles. Cet appareil comprend des unités d'alimentation en câbles fournissant plusieurs câbles de renforcement (12), une unité de serrage pour serrer des câbles sous une tension prédéterminée dans chacun des câbles de renforcement (12). Chaque support de mise sous tension (16) comprend des unités de mise sous tension (32) avec un capteur de tension pour contrôler la tension dans un câble associé (12), un organe d'actionnement (66) pour appliquer une force au câble (12) pour produire dans ce dernier une tension prédéterminée et un contrôleur de rétroaction pour l'organe d'actionnement contrôlant la force (66) qui exerce un contrôle en fonction du signal généré par une cellule de charge (100) connectée à l'organe d'actionnement (66). Une unité de maintien de câble est placée en amont du support de mise sous tension (16). Chaque unité de mise sous tension (32) comprend une paire de réas (56) dont l'axe de rotation est fixe par rapport à l'unité de mise sous tension (32).
