An apparatus to adjust the distance between a motor and the bearing box of a top-driven oil well pump, thereby adjusting the tension of the drive belt. The apparatus comprises upper and lower articulating scissor members which include threaded collars at the point of articulation. A rod with two sets of external threads at each end, one reversed from the other, connects the two collars. Rotation of the rod in one direction causes the two collars to move apart, thereby decreasing the distance between the motor and the bearing box. Rotation of the rod in the opposite direction has the opposite effect. The motor is supported and fixed by track rollers which allow sliding movement of the motor relative to the bearing box.
