Normally, when stents are bent, inside the body of the stented patient, there is head-to-head collision between facing V-points on the inside of the bend. However, by alternating between two whole numbers the number of struts between successive connectors around the circumference of each of the stenting rings, the V-points are caused to veer circumferentially in opposite directions as they approach each other on the inside of the bend, so allowing them to pass by each other without collision, thereby allowing in the same stent both close packing of the ring stack, and an enhanced ability to tolerate severe bending, after placement in the body.
Généralement, lorsque l'on courbe les stents dans le corps du patient, il se produit une collision entre les points V se faisant face sur l'intérieur de la courbe. Toutefois, selon la présente invention, en alternant entre deux nombres entiers le nombre de montants entre des raccords successifs autour de la circonférence de chacun des anneaux de pose de stent, les points V sont amenés à tourner de manière circonférentielle dans des sens opposés au fur et à mesure qu'ils se rapprochent mutuellement sur l'intérieur de la courbe, leur permettant ainsi de passer l'un à côté de l'autre sans collision, permettant ainsi dans le même stent à la fois une compacité de l'empilement d'anneaux et une aptitude améliorée à tolérer une importante courbure, après le positionnement dans le corps.
