Benzenesulfonamide compounds of formula (I) Image (R1 is hydroxy, C1-4 alkoxy, NR6R7 (each R6 and R7 is, independently, H or C1-4 alkyl); R2 is H, C1-4 alkyl; R3, R4 are C1-4 alkyl, halogen, trifluoromethyl; R5 is H, C1-4 alkyl, halogen, trifluoromethyl; Y is cis-vinylene, trans-vinylene; and the symbol Image is single bond, double bond) can bind strongly to the EP1 receptor which is a prostaglandin E2 receptor subtype and scarcely bind to the other receptor subtypes. Therefore, they are considered to be useful as antipyretic agents, as analgesics or as agents for the prevention and/or treatment of pollakiuria having little side effect.

Benzènesulfonamides de formule (I) Image ; R1 est un hydroxy, un alcoxy C1-4, NR6R7, chaque R6 et chaque R7 étant indépendamment un H ou un alkyle C1-4; R2 est un H ou un alkyle C1-4; R3 et R4 sont chacun un alkyle C1-4, un halogène ou un trifluorométhyle; R5 est un H, un alkyle C1-4, un halogène ou un trifluorométhyle; Y est un cis-vinylène ou un trans-vinylène; le symbole Image est une liaison simple ou une liaison double. Ces composés peuvent se lier solidement au récepteur EP1 - qui est un sous-type du récepteur de la prostaglandine E2 -, mais ne se lient que rarement aux autres sous-types du récepteur. Ils sont donc considérés comme utiles en tant qu'antipyrétiques, analgésiques ou agents pour la prévention et (ou) le traitement de la pollakiurie, avec peu d'effets secondaires.
