Abstract of the Disclosure Processes are described for the preparation of benzo(a) quino- lisidine derivatives of the formula I Image (I) wherein: R1 and R2 each represent hydrogen or a C1-4 alkoxy group, or together for a methylenedioxy group; R3, R4, R5 and R6 which maybe the same or different and stand for hydrogen or a group of the formula -CH2-(CH2)n-R7, at least one of them not being hydrogen, and R7 is a carboxyl group or a carboxylic acid derivative group, and n is 0,1, or 2. These compounds and the pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof have anti-inflammatory properties.
