Benzofuran derivatives represented by the general formula (I) or salts thereof: (I) [wherein R1 is phenyl or hydrogen; k is 0 or 1; m, n, o, p, and q are each independently an integer of 0 to 5; and R2 and R3 are each independently hydrogen or hydroxyl, or alternatively R2 and R3 together represent oxygen, with the proviso that k, q, and m, or n, o, and p are simultaneously 0]. The compounds inhibit the phosphorylation of STAT 6 and are useful in the treatment or prevention of allergic diseases.

L'invention concerne des dérivés de benzofurane, représentés par la formule générale (I), ou des sels de ces derniers. Dans la formule (I), R?1¿ représente phényle ou hydrogène ; k vaut 0 ou 1 ; m, n, o, p et q représentent chacun de manière indépendante un entier compris entre 0 et 5 ; et R?2¿ et R?3¿ sont indépendants l'un de l'autre et représentent hydrogène ou hydroxyle, à condition que k, q et m, ou n, o et p valent simultanément 0.
