A method for decolorizing and stabilizing alkylphenyl esters of phosphoric acid which comprises contacting the esters with an effective amount of a benzofuranone (e.g., is 5,7-di-t-butyl-3-(3,4 di-methylphenyl)3H-benzofuran-2- one) for a sufficient length of time to decolorize and stabilize the esters against subsequent color formation.

L'invention concerne un procédé de décoloration et de stabilisation d'esters d'alkylphényle d'acide phosphorique, consistant à mettre en contact ces esters avec une quantité efficace de benzofuranone (du 5,7-di-tert-butyl-3-(2,3-diméthy-phényl)2(3H)-benzofuranone, par exemple) pendant un laps de temps suffisant pour décolorer et stabiliser ces esters contre toute formation de couleur ultérieure.
