ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Acyl-aminoalkyl-benzoic acid and derivates thereof show a blood sugar lowering effect upon oral administration and can be used as orally applicable hypoglycemiants. These compounds have the formula Image wherein T' represents hydrogen or halogen, W' represents a carboxyl group, an ester or a salt thereof, X' represents various defined aromatic or heteroaromatic ring systems and Z' represents hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or alkoxy having 1 to 4 carbon atoms.
