The invention concerns: (i) [4-(4-cyanobenzyl)phenyl]glycopyranosides of formula (I) wherein: the glycopyranosyl group R represents a .beta.-D arabinopyranosyl, .beta.-D-lyxopyranosyl, .beta.-D-ribopyranosyl, .beta.-D- mannopyranosyl, .beta.-L-arabinopyranosyl, .beta.-L-xylopyranosyl, .alpha.-L- arabinopyranosyl, .alpha.-L-xylopyranosyl or .beta.-L-rhamnopyranosyl group; and (ii) their esters resulting from esterification of at least a OH function of each glycopyranosyl group with a C2-C4 alkanoic or cycloalkanoic acid, as novel industrial products. Said novel [4-(4- cyanobenzyl)phenyl]glycopyranosides are useful in therapy for fighting against athermatous plaque.
La présente invention concerne en tant que produits industriels nouveaux: (i) les composés [4-(4-cyanobenzoyl)phényl] glycopyranosides de formule I dans laquelle le groupe glycopyranosyle R représente un groupe .beta.-D-arabinopyranosyle, .beta.-D-lyxopyranosyle, .beta.-D-ribopyranosyle, .beta.-D-galactopyranosyle, $b(g)-D-mannopyranosyle, .beta.-L-arabinopyranosyle, .beta.-L-xylopyranosyle, .alpha.-L-arabinopyranosyle, .alpha.-L-xylopyranosyle ou .beta.-L-rhamnopyranosyle; et, (ii) leurs esters résultant de l'estérification d'au moins d'une fonction OH de chaque groupe glycopyranosyle par un acide alcanoïque ou cycloalcanoïque en C¿2?-C¿4?. Ces nouveaux [4-(4-cyanobenzoyl)phényl] glycopyranosides sont utiles en thérapeutique vis-à-vis de la plaque d'athérome.
