ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Novel compounds are described which are substituted benzophenone hydrazones. They have pesticidal activity, especially against insects and acarids, and pesticidal compo- sitions and methods are described. Methods of making the compounds, and novel intermediates, are also described. The compounds have the general formula Image where X may be perflouroalkyl, perfluoroalkoxy or perfluoro- alkylthio of up to 4 carbon atoms; and Y may be hydrogen, halogen alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, perfluoroalkyl, perfluoro- alkoxy or perfluorcalkylthio of up to 4 carbon atoms.
