72222-164 ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A series of 2-amino-5,6-dimethyl-1,4-benzoquinone derivatives, of the formula: Image (I) [wherein R1 is H, alkyl, cycloalkyl, phenylalkyl, acyl or CH(OZ)R8 (where R8 is H, alkyl, carboxyalkyl or alkoxycarbonyl- alkyl and Z is H or methoxyethoxymethyl); R2 is H or phenyl; and R3 is cycloalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, a group Image (where m is 0 to 3 and R5 and R6 are possible substituents) or R7 alkyl (where R7 is hydroxyl, carboxyl, alkoxycarbonyl, hydroxy- alkoxy or furyl) or R2 and R3 together with the adjacent nitrogen atom form Image are inhibitors of cyclooxygenase and lipoxy- genase and are useful as antiallergic and antiinflammatory agents.
