ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Benzothiazole derivatives and a pharmacologically acceptable salt thereof are disclosed which are useful as preventive or therapeutic agents for diseases in which the functions of suppressing leukotrienes and thromboxanes production are effective. The benzothiazole derivatives are represented by the general formula: (I) Image wherein R1 and R3 are the same or different and each represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a lower alkoxy group, a group represented by the formula: Image (wherein p is an integer from 1 to 4), or a group represented by the formula: Image (wherein R7 represents a lower alkyl group); R4 represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a phenyl group, a group represented by the formula: Image (wherein q is an integer of from 1 to 4), or a group represented by the formula: Image (wherein R7 represents a lower alkyl group); or R3 and R4 may form a benzene ring together with the carbon atoms to which they are bound; R2 represents a hydrogen atom or a protective group of a hydroxyl group; and R5 and R6 are either same or different and each represents a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl group, a group represented by the formula: Image (wherein r is an integer of from 1 to 4), or an acyl group, Pharmacologically acceptable salts of the derivatives (I) are also disclosed.
