A description is given of compositions comprising A) a lubricant, a metalworking fluid or a hydraulic fluid, in particular a base oil from the group consisting of the mineral, vegetable and synthetic (for example poly-.alpha.-olefin or ester) oils; B) from 0.005 to 1.0 % by weight of a compound of the formula Image in which R1 and R2 independently of one another are C3-C18alkyl, C5-C12cycloalkyl, C5-C6cycloalkylmethyl, C9-C10bicycloalkylmethyl, C9-C10tricycloalkylmethyl, phenyl or C7-C24alkylphenyl or together are (CH3)2C(CH2)2, and R3 is hydrogen or methyl, and, if desired, C) other customary oil additives from the groups consisting of antioxidants, metal passivators, rust inhibitors, dispersants, detergents, viscosity index improvers, pour point depressants, antifoams, solid lubricants and further antiwear additives.
