Disclosed is an adsorbent comprising a .beta.-zeolite molecular sieve, which .beta.-zeolite consists essentially of Fe, H, O, Si and Al, with Fe in a molar amount at least equal to that of Al and the molar ratio of Si/Al being 80 or more. As compared with an adsorbent comprising a zeolite (an aluminosilicate) of at least about equal Si/(Fe+Al) molar ratio (Fe is substantially absent), the adsorbent of the present invention has high heat resistance and high hydrothermal resistance, and can maintain adsorption capability even when exposed to high temperatures.
L'invention porte sur un adsorbant présentant des résistances thermique et hydrothermique supérieures à celles des adsorbants contenant de la zéolite (silicate d'aluminium) dont le rapport molaire est identique ou supérieur à Si par rapport à (Fe + Al) (pratiquement exempt de Fe) et qui, même lorsqu'il est exposé à une température élevée, peut conserver ses propriétés adsorbantes. Cet adsorbant comprend une sève moléculaire de silicate de type beta qui renferme au moins Fe outre H, O, et Si, et qui, lorsqu'elle renferme Al, a une teneur molaire en Fe supérieure à la teneur en Al.
