Stover Abstract of the Disclosure A beverage brewer includes a water reservoir from which heated water is dispensed through a beverage filter lining a funnel and containing coffee or tea to a serving beaker. Cold water is admitted to the reservoir and heated to a predetermined brewing temperature by a resistance heater element within the reservoir. A temperature sensing element in the reservoir produces a control signal continuously indicative of the temperature of water in the reservoir. A heater control circuit varies electrical excitation of the heating element in response to the control signal to maintain water in the reservoir at the predetermined brewing temperature.
