ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE In order to achieve these and other objects of the invention, the present invention provides an improved bi- fold screen door which includes a pair of elongated panels having central rectangular mesh screen portions. The door panels are connected by a vertically extending central piano-type hinge. A longitudinal edge of one of the panels is secured by a hinge in a vertically extending notch formed in a door jam. A free longitudinal edge of the opposite door panel is received in a juxtaposed notch in the door jam, when the door is in a closed position. The door is intended for use in conjunction with a solid door having opposite vertical edges receivable in a second pair of juxtaposed notches formed in the door jam. The bi-fold screen door includes a pair of laterally spaced, vertically aligned door handles on an interior surf ace of one of the door panels, and a single door handle formed on an exterior surface of the door panel. In use, the bi-fold screen door is mounted on the inside of a door jam and opens inward, folding back against an adjacent wall, occupying substantially less space in an open position than a conventional full width screen door.
