A bi-functional roof drain (10) includes a housing (12) forming a drain manifold (18) and a primary drain outlet (24) to connect to a primary drainage system. A backup drain pipe (28) penetrates the housing (12) and extends through the manifold (18). The top (30) of the backup drain pipe (28) is positioned a distance above the housing (12), which may be variable. With this drain a method of retrofitting a roof drainage system to provide primary and backup water drainage is also presented. This method includes removing an existing uni-functional roof drain from a deck penetration through the roof, and installing a bi-functional roof drain (10) in the same deck penetration. The two drain outlets are connected to the primary and backup drainage system. The height of a top opening (30) of a backup drain pipe (28) of the bi- functional roof drain (10) may be adjustable in relation to a surface of the roof.
Drain de toiture bifonctionnel comprenant un boîtier constituant un conduit collecteur, et une première sortie de drain conçue pour être accouplée à un système de drainage primaire. Une canalisation de drainage secondaire pénètre dans le boîtier et s'étend à travers le collecteur. La partie supérieure de cette canalisation de drainage secondaire est placée à distance au-dessus du boîtier, ce qui peut être variable. L'invention concerne également un procédé permettant d'adapter un système de drainage de toiture afin d'obtenir une capacité de drainage d'eau primaire et secondaire. Ce procédé consiste à retirer un drain de toiture unifonctionnel existant d'un passage de pont traversant la toiture et à installer un drain bifonctionnel dans ce même passage de pont. Les deux sorties de drain sont accouplées au système de drainage primaire et secondaire. Il est possible de régler la hauteur d'une ouverture supérieure de la canalisation de drainage secondaire de ce drain de toiture bifonctionnel par rapport à la surface de la toiture.
