A miniaturized flashlight (10) which includes a top (12), and bottom (20) each of which is snap-fittingly secured to the other and joined by a further element, a flexible tubular housing (11). A battery bridge (30) is provided at the bottom (20) of the bottom portion along with upstanding battery separators to thereby physically separate two batteries (50) while electrically putting them in partial series contact. The top (12) is adapted to fit over and ride upon the tubular member (11). The top (12) has a separate electronic bridge at its upper portion for permanently engaging one battery (50), and leaf spring for selectively electrically engaging the adjacent bulb base (34) above the other battery (50) to thereby activate the circuit to illuminate the light bulb (45) located in the top (12). The battery (50) is located at one side of the top (12) and a holder (15) is disposed on the top adjacent the bulb (45).
