Biological cells plated on an elastic membrane (14) are placed under biaxial strain for purposes of observation by a device that includes a support (12) with an opening over which the membrane (14) is secured, a movable cylinder (11) coaxial with the opening and fitting closely but movably within the opening, and an actuating member (13) that stabilizes and controls the position of the cylinder (11) relative to the opening. The actuating member (13) is coupled to the support (12) by a threaded connection while engaging the movable cyclinder (11). The degree of membrane stretch is accurately controlled by the rotation of the actuating member (13).

Cette invention concerne des cellules biologiques qui sont plaquées sur une membrane élastique (14) et qui sont soumises à des contraintes biaxiales en vue de leur observation à l'aide d'un dispositif comprenant les éléments suivants: un support (12) comportant une ouverture par dessus laquelle la membrane (14) est fixée; un cylindre mobile (11) monté coaxial par rapport à l'ouverture et venant s'emboîter étroitement dans celle-ci tout en pouvant s'y déplacer; et un élément d'actionnement (13) qui permet de stabiliser et d'ajuster la position du cylindre (11) par rapport à l'ouverture. Cet élément d'actionnement (13) est couplé au support (12) par une connexion filetée tout en étant en interaction avec le cylindre mobile (11). Le taux d'étirement de la membrane peut être ajusté avec précision par la rotation de l'élément d'actionnement (13).
