The present invention is directed to an absorbent article having a pair of opposed longitudinal edges and including an absorbent assembly having an inner facing side and an outer facing side, and a backsheet joined with the outer facing side of the absorbent assembly. The backsheet includes a formed substrate comprising a first boundary zone having a first surface pathlength and a second boundary zone having a second surface pathlength. The first and the second surface pathlengths are preferably measured when the formed substrate is in a relaxed condition. The backsheet also includes an elongated zone located at least partially between the first boundary zone and the second boundary zone. The elongated zone comprises incrementally stretched regions which result in the elongated zone being elongated in a first direction of elongation and having a third surface pathlength measured when the formed substrate is in the relaxed condition. The third surface pathlength is greater than either the first pathlength or the second pathlength such that the backsheet takes on a macroscopic three-dimensional configuration when the backsheet is in a relaxed condition.
Article absorbant doté d'une paire de bords longitudinaux opposés et comportant un ensemble absorbant pourvu d'une face interne, d'une face externe et d'une feuille arrière adhérant à la face externe de l'ensemble absorbant. La feuille arrière comporte un substrat à forme qui présente une première zone limite ayant une première longueur de ligne de surface et une deuxième zone limite à deuxième longueur de ligne de surface. Les première et deuxième longueurs de ligne de surface sont de préférence mesurées lorsque le substrat à forme est en position relâchée. La feuille de fond comporte également une zone allongée située au moins partiellement entre les première et deuxième zones. La zone allongée comporte des régions à étirement irrégulier. Il en résulte que la zone allongée est allongée dans un premier sens d'allongement et possède une troisième longueur de ligne de surface mesurée lorsque le substrat formé se trouve en état de relâché. La troisième longueur de ligne de surface est plus grande que les première et deuxième longueurs si bien que la feuille de fond prend une configuration tridimensionnelle macroscopique lorsque la feuille de fond est en position relâchée.
