The present invention provides compositions, methods of using and methods of preparing a biaxially oriented polystyrene composition. The compositions are useful in that they are clear and have improved room and low temperature impact strength. The compositions include from about 0.1 to about 1.4 weight percent rubber particles, based upon the total weight of the composition. The average diameters of the rubber particles are from about 0.1 micron to about 10 microns.
L'invention porte sur des compositions de polystyrène à orientation biaxiale et leurs procédés d'utilisation et de préparation. Ces compositions s'avèrent utiles en ce qu'elles sont transparentes et présentent un résistance améliorée à l'impact à la température ambiante ou aux basses températures. Elles comportent entre 0,1 et 1,4 % en poids de particules de caoutchouc, dont le diamètre moyen va d'environ 0,1 micron à environ 10 microns.
