A composite, bicomponent, sheath-core fiber (8) and methods of making (Figs. 1 and 2) and using such fiber by it self or in a multifilament form are described in which the sheath comprises E-CTFE and the core is any spinnable polymer similara to Nylon, PET and copolymers thereof.

L'invention concerne une fibre composite (8) à deux composants, de type âme-enveloppe, ainsi que des procédés (fig. 1 et 2) pour produire et utiliser cette fibre sous forme de monofilament ou de multifilament. L'enveloppe contient de l'éthylènemonochlorotrifluoroéthylène et l'âme est constituée de n'importe quel polymère filable, présentant des propriétés similaires à celles du nylon, du PET et de leurs copolymères.
