BICOMPONENT POLYMERIC FILMS CONTAINING BLOCK POLY (ETHER-CO-AMIDES) Abstract of the Disclosure A nonporous, breathable polymeric film having first and second major layers of polymeric material. The first major layer contains a hydrophilic poly(ether-co- amide)copolymer and a hydrophobic polymer. The second major layer contains one or more polymers, thin films of which meet specifically defined criteria for moisture vapor transmission rate, equilibrium water absorption and equilibrium 70% aqueous isopropanol absorption. The films find use as wound dressings, breathable backing materials or as structural components of such items as surgical gowns, patient drapes or hazardous material protection garments. CHIC-776
