Bicycle and the like with multiple gears (14), chain transmission (6) and axis of the cranks (16) of the pedal unit (1) placed on the outside of the rear wheel, inside the upper arc bounded by A and B symbols, new pedalling system optimising the relationship between the means of transport and its user. The cyclist's position is prone (fig.1), a condition possible thanks to the body supporting "balancer" (8, 9) (fig.4); it allows an optimal weight distribution and cardio-vascular, respiratory and muscular optimisation, which leads to a maximum energy output. The advantageous aspects are: maximum aerodynamic penetration due to the driver's prone position; maximum exploitation of muscular output due to the antigravitational rotation of thighs; better venous and lymphatic circulation thanks to lower abdominal pressure; better cardio- respiratory function, due to easier venous circulation; maximum protection of the spine by supporting the rachis; minimum perineum shock thanks to the saddle (11) supporting the gluteus; maximum stability of the vehicle thanks to ground-hub pedal block-system; reduced weight of the rotating parts thanks to the compactness of the mechanism of transmission.
L'invention se rapporte à une bicyclette, ou à un appareil similaire, munie d'un dérailleur (14), d'une chaîne de transmission (6) et de l'axe des manivelles (18) du pédalier (1). Tous ces éléments, placés sur l'extérieur de la roue arrière, ne sortent pas de l'arc supérieur situé entre le point A et le point B (fig.3). Le nouveau système de pédalage permet à l'utilisateur de tirer le meilleur parti de son véhicule. Le cycliste est couché sur le ventre (fig.1) grâce à un "balancier" (8, 9) (fig.4). Cette position permet une répartition optimale du poids et une optimisation des fonctions cardio-vasculaire, respiratoire et musculaire. Ainsi, le rendement énergétique est maximal. Les principaux avantages sont les suivants: aérodynamisme maximal dû à la position couchée du cycliste; exploitation maximale des capacités musculaires du fait de la rotation antigravitationnelle des cuisses; meilleure circulation sanguine et lymphatique grâce à une pression abdominale réduite; meilleure capacité respiratoire due à une circulation sanguine plus aisée; protection maximale du dos dû au soutient de la colonne vertébrale; choc périnéal réduit au minimum grâce à une selle (11) soutenant les muscles fessiers; stabilité maximale du véhicule assurée par une liaison permanente entre le moyeu de la roue arrière et le sol; et enfin poids réduit des parties rotatives du fait de la compacité du mécanisme de transmission.
