There is provided a connecting assembly suitable for connecting a first leading bicycle to a second trailing bicycle wherein a front wheel of the second trailing bicycle is removed, the connecting assembly preferably comprising a pair of plates mounted to the rear axle of the first bicycle and also being attached to a structural member of the first bicycle, and a connection between the connecting assembly with a portion of the steering assembly of the second trailing bicycle. The device is useful for bicycling with a child as well as joining two bicycles in tandem.
