The bycicle crankshaft assembly includes two crank arms (222, 224) having end portions thereof, a crank axle (226) having two end portions thereof, whith one of the crank arms (222) attached to one of the axle end portions and another of the crank arms (224) attached to the other of the axle end portions, and a crank arm insert (228) affixed to at least one of the axle end portions and affixed to one of the crank arm (222) end portions for connection of the crank arm (222) to the crank axle (226).
