-6- Abstract of the Disclosure A mobile service rig adapted to move up and down a pipe system is disclosed. The mobile service rig comprises a work platform adapted to be slideably mounted on the pipe system, a pair of cylinders secured to the work platform, and pipe grippers attached to the piston of each cylinder and adapted to engage the pipe system whereby by alternately operating the cylinders and pipe grippers, the work platform may be moved up and down the pipe system.
