A unitary monocoque frame is provided for a bicycle including a right half shell having a peripheral edge and a left half shell having a peripheral edge symmetrical with the peripheral edge of the right half shell. The right half shell includes an integrally formed head tube portion and an integrally formed seat tube collar. The left half shell includes a curved surface to join with the head tube portion and a cupped recess to receive the seat tube collar. A tongue extends along at least a portion of the peripheral edge of one of the right and left half shells. A groove extends along at least a corresponding portion of the peripheral edge of the other one of the right and left half shells. The tongue and groove are in mating engagement to join the right and left half shells forming the unitary monocoque frame.
L~invention concerne un cadre monocoque unitaire pour bicyclette comportant un demi-ossature droite présentant un bord périphérique et une demi-ossature gauche présentant un bord périphérique symétrique au bord périphérique de la demi-ossature droite. La demi-ossature droite comporte un tronçon de tube de fourche formé d~un seul tenant et un manchon de tube de selle formé d~un seul tenant. La demi-ossature gauche comporte une surface incurvée destinée à s~unir au tronçon de tube de fourche et un renfoncement concave destiné à recevoir le manchon de type de selle. Une languette se prolonge le long d~une partie au moins du bord périphérique de la demi-ossature droite ou gauche. Une rainure se prolonge le long d~au moins une partie correspondante du bord périphérique de l~autre demi-ossature. La languette et la rainure s~emboîtent pour réunir les demi-ossatures droite et gauche en formant ainsi le cadre monocoque unitaire.
