ABSTRACT The invention relates to a lock for a bicycle and, more specifically, to a device which utilizes, at least in part, the seat/seat post for the purpose of locking the entire bicycle. The invention takes advantage of these already available components of the bicycle, which when not in use in a seating configuration, may be readily converted to use as a locking mechanism. This is achieved, in general, by providing either integrally or as a separate element, a shackle which is lockingly engageable with these components to form a lockable loop which can be used to lock the bicycle when not in use.
