UNITED STATES/CANADA ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A bicycle mounting system has a base and a support to secure the pedals of a bicycle and a tongue for engagement with a trailer hitch. The support may be a hollow post or the like with vertical slots of different lengths. One slot, preferably shallower than the other, receives the crank shaft of a bicycle, while the other receives the pedal. By this construction, the crank arm of the pedal extends downward in the hollow support. A wedge is forced down against the pedal crank arm (which tends to extend outward) and locked into place to secure the pedal in the support. While this system adequately secures the bicycle, it is also desirable to prevent the entire bicycle from rotating about the support, which otherwise form a pivot. This may be accomplished by using fixed U-shaped supports that receive the wheels of the bicycle.
