ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION This invention relates to a shackle, to secure the frame of a bicycle to a massive object thus inhibiting theft, the shackle comprising: a hollow tube, having a longitudinal axis; anchoring means for securing a rearward end of the tube to said object; a clevis, having a rearward leg connected to a forward end of the tube, the clevis having a throat opening transverse to said axis, and having a forward leg with a rearwardly open recess, the throat being adapted to receive a frame member of a bicycle; a bolt housed within the tube and axially slideable therein between a retracted open position and a closed position spanning across the clevis throat and engaged within said recess thus shackling said frame member; and lock eye means, engaging the bolt and tube, for inhibiting relative movement thereof in said closed position.
