ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE Device for the bidimensional correlation of an image obtained by the scanning of electromagne- tic or acoustic waves with a reference image. The scanned image is written into a memory and reference image into other memories. A pair of memories stores the real part and imaginary part of the signal of corresponding images. After digital - analog con- version, the signals are placed on a carrier and correlated line by line in an elastic wave convolver. After analog - digital conversion and complex demodu- lation, the correlation signal is applied to an adder and the correlation image is stored with its real and imaginary parts in memories. Application to the recalibration on maps of the position of a vehicle.
